Last night was filled with the sound of the engine coming on and getting turned off as soon as there was enough wind to sail again. We are trying to get some distance done after some mediocre 24 hour distance runs over the past three days, we don’t want to just sit out here forever waiting for bad weather. The sun rose this morning to a dark and slightly forbidding line of clouds directly ahead. The wind built from 6 knots to a gusty 25 in about 1.5 hours, and the less than awake morning crew were forced to do all sorts of sailing related activities, rather than the usual tea drinking, sunrise watching activities. Fortunately, the forecast is calling for excellent sailing conditions in the near future, so all we need to do it wait…
